In reply, Meigle's pro Sean Willoughby set about the bowling and century partnerships for the first and second wicket meant that the game was heading for a tight finish. Meigle needed 29 off the last 5 overs with 4 wickets in hand but tight bowling by John and Graeme saw Forthill restrict Meigle to 268.
