Match report Montrose won the toss and put Forthill XI into bat on a much improved artificial wicket. Gav and Giggsy gave us a good start, with over 50 on the board before the first wicket went down. When Giggsy was bowled, Andrew and Ian kept the run rate up and a late onslaught from Dean helped post a very respectable 186.

Kean and Ted opened the bowling, Ted making the breakthrough with the last ball of the 18th over when he trapped Gary Hutcheson LBW, then with the first ball of his next over bowled Ken Christie. The hat-trick ball was edged by new batsman A.Hornsey but the ball hit the ground after passing Simmy and just out of Gav’s reach at first slip. Tight bowling from Dean and Giggsy in the middle of the innings put the game out of Montrose’s reach and they blocked out the remaining overs for a draw.
