Match report Strathmore were Saturdays visitors to Forthill, and took first use of a green wicket on the school side of the ground. Dean gave Forthill a great start against the league leaders by dismissing two of Strathie’s key run scorers in the first over of the game.

First to go was Blackie, caught at mid-wicket from a miss-timed pull, then Hazel caught at second slip, to make it 6 for 2 at the end of the first over. Gourlay and Hewitson took the score on to 47 before Gourlay’s cover drive found Cameron’s hands for a comfortable catch. Strathie skipper Mudie joined Hewitson and took the score onto 89 before Hewitson’s aerial off-drive was well caught by Gav - at the second attempt. When Mo trapped Cooper LBW for 16, Forthill looked in a good position at 122-5 but a century partnership between Milne (37 not out) and Mudie (94) saw Strathie finish on 240-6.

LJ (33) and Craig (26) scored quickly and after 10 overs had taken to score to 80 but the introduction of the experienced McKay turned the game, and the good start was undone as Forthill slumped to 98-4. Baz (19) and Dean (20) briefly lifted spirits, before Milne picked up the last 3 wickets to see Forthill finish on 160-9 (all out) as Ian was absent due to a finger injury.
