Forfarshire keeper-batsman Craig Wallace has been rewarded for his outstanding season by winning the title of First Division Batsman of the year.

Craig scored 628 league runs at an average of 48, including three 50's and two 100's and featured in opening partnerships of 50 or more on five occasions including the memorable partnership of 232 against Drumpellier at Forthill in which Craig and Howie both hit centuries.

Forfarshire CC Sportsmans Dinner – Friday 26th March 2010

Following the success of the 2009 Sportsmans Dinner, the event is being repeated on Friday 26th March 2010 at the Woodlands Hotel. Last years dinner was a sell-out, so book your place early by returning the ticket application form to Graham McLelland soon.

Tickets are priced at £35 and include a three-course dinner followed by entertainment. MC for the evening is Tom Dymock, and guest speakers are Willie Allan and George McNeill.

The Clubsport/DHSFP indoor sixes league will start on Wednesday 18th November, with Forfarshire scheduled to start their defense of the trophy a week later, on Wednesday 25th November.

The format will be the same as previous years, with 8 teams competing, starting with a 5 week session from 18th Nov to 16th Dec then a 3 week break for Christmas and New Year before starting again on 13th January leading up to a finals night on Wednesday 17th March.

Makaya Kian Pickering was born early on 29th September.

Cricket Scotland, through the affiliated clubs, are looking for or ex-players or other with cricket knowledge to replace SNCL umpires as they retire. Training will be given and it is envisaged that consideration is given to applicants who may wish to umpire within easy travelling distance of their home.

Forfarshire are keen to promote this initiative and ask members or anyone interested in cricket in the area to apply to Cricket Scotland.

Cricket Scotland have issued formal proposals for the restructuring of the SNCL from season 2011 following a meeting of SNCL clubs.

Members are encouraged to read the proposals and provide their views to Gordon Black by the end of October before voting takes place.
