Forthill won their first round Three Counties Cup match at Arbroath on Wednesday night. After reaching 50 for 2 in 8 overs, Rory (75) and Nic (39) added 79 in 10 overs with an effective mix of boundary hitting and quick running to see a competitive 155 for 6 scored.
Two early wickets for Howie and one for Winker gave Forthill an early advantage before Sinclair (44no), Edwards (32) and Riddler (22) threatened to sneak a victory with some late blows but the Forthill bowlers held their nerve and Arbroath were left on 125 for 5.
The round 2 draw has yet to be made.
There's more T20 cup action next week when Forthill 2nd XI play Arbroath, also at Lochlands, on Thursday 16th June starting at 6.15pm.
