With much sadness we learned of the passing of Drummond Robertson.
Drummond captained Forfarshire for eight seasons across a remarkable three decades (1964-1965, 1972-1975 & 1981-1982) and led the club to a Scottish County Championship title in 1973. In 1981, Drummond was once again at the helm when Forfarshire secured a Scottish County Championship and Beneagles Quaich double before going on to retain the Quaich the following season.
Drummond amassed in excess of 30,000 runs during his playing career which started out at Lochee Park before breaking into Forfarshire’s 1st XI in 1959. Drummond’s Forfarshire playing career spanned 40 years when he continued to play and captain Forfarshire 3rd XI until his retirement in 1999.
Our thoughts are with all of Drummond’s family.
