Doo’cot Park Centenary Celebration

29 Jul 2025

A message from Perth Doo’cot CC…..

Some of you will be aware that 2025 is the Centenary of the first match at Doo'cot Park. To celebrate, MCC are visiting Doo'cot on Wed 30th July to take on a Perth Doo'cot XI. We will then entertain The Forty Club on Sunday 3rd August with games at Over-40 and Over-60, albeit there may be some "flexibility" at the older age-group! I hope so!

Formal invites from Gannochy Trust and Perth Doo'cot have gone out to a wide range of people for the MCC game but that game and, in particular, The Forty Club Day are also open to all and the purpose of this note is to ask you to make your members aware. We would love to see them at either match.

As Clubs or individuals, all of you will have had past and more recent visits to Doo'cot and some of you may even recall the match in 1975 to celebrate 50 years of Doo'cot. There will be some well-known faces in attendance at both matches and to have people attending from Clubs around the wider SPCU Region in addition to the P&K cricket family would only enhance the occasion. Gannochy Trust possess a vast archive of cricket memorabilia and some of that will be on display during the games.

The MCC game is an 11am start and will be a timed game of the old variety. The Pavilion will be fully occupied by caterers - MCC like a lunch and tea - until after tea is taken around 4 so I suggest spectators bring their own lunch. The Sunday matches will start at Noon and we hope to have a Food Truck on site and the bar open from early afternoon, once the matches begin.

Thank You.
