02 Mar 2015
Dundee Academy of Sport is hosting a 'Leadership in Captaincy' seminar with Gordon Drummond on Monday 18th May at the University of Abertay from 6.30pm-8.30pm.

https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/sports-leadership-series-leadership-in-captaincy-tickets-15708088315
Event details:
Gordon Drummond is a Tayside sporting success story. From village cricket in leafy East Perthshire, where he took up the sport at Meigle Cricket Club, where his father and grandfather had played with distinction before him, to playing on the international stage where he was capped 117 times, captaining his country in many of these matches from June 2010 to May 2013. Gordon has many career highlights, but some notable ones include, playing in the 2009 ICC World Cup twenty20, captaining Scotland in the Intercontinental Cup final of 2010 and being a member of the Scotland squad in January 2014 that qualified for the 2015 Cricket World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
Gordon has been the Edinburgh City Council Cricket Development Officer since 2002 after a journey from being a pupil at Blairgowrie High School saw him progress to attaining an HND Sports Coaching & Development from Edinburgh’s Telford College in 2000. He then articulated onto the BSc Sport Science degree at Napier University, graduating in 2002. A Level 3 coach with coaching experience from the playground, to national age group squads to senior men’s club level. Gordon is highly regarded as one of the best cricket brains in the country and is hugely respected for his time as Scotland captain, as he helped turn around the fortunes of the national team that was rocked by the failure to qualify for the 2011 ICC World Cup.
A leader with vision, a strong work ethic and a plain talker, from village cricketer to international cricket captain, Gordon Drummond is the archetypical ‘local boy done good’ who is a high quality speaker with innovative views on sports leadership.
