Forthill 2nd XI Win Two Counties Cup

10 Aug 2015

Forthill 2nd XI have won the Two Counties Cup at the SPCU Cup Finals day held at Doo’cot Park on Sunday. A large travelling support saw Forthill take to the field and restrict Breadalbane to 70 before chasing down the target with 9 wickets and 8 overs remaining.

Jake opened the bowling with two maidens and with Ted conceding only 2 runs from his first two overs, Forthill were quickly on top. A wicket in each of the next four overs delighted the crowd and reduced Breadalbane to 16 for 4. Blair started and ended his four over spell with a wicket then the return of Jake saw top scorer Bax bowled for 28 as Forthill were set 71 to win.

The Forthill response saw Cameron (30) and Callum (24 not out) take the score to 67 before Cameron was bowled which handed Steven the opportunity to score the winning runs and retain the Two Counties Cup for another year.

Forthill's Three Counties Cup run came unstuck at the hands of eventual winners Gordonians when they lost the semi-final by 23 runs.
