FF were put into bat on a cold, damp night at Lochlands and made good progress on a pitch with very low bounce. Rory retired (competition playing conditions) after a well made 32, and Callum and Midge took the score to a very respectable 125.

Despite an early run out, Arbroath batted steadily against some good bowling, two batters making 30 before retirement. With a little more luck, some more shots may well have gone to hand instead of to the boundary.

The team were of course disappointed to lose this Scottish Cup tie, but the performance against a strong Arbroath team bodes well for the rest of the season.
