Are you ready to join in the fun? Our race night on Saturday 3rd September will be hosted by the renowned compere and magician, "Magic Paul" who will act as your guide to the wonderful world of the race track.
The fun starts now!
Watch out for the chance to become an "Owner" at the official Newmarket knock-down price of ONLY £5 per horse. Team captains and fundraising team members will be on hand to sell you a horse, so look out for them at coaching sessions, matches, practice, and anything Forfarshire related. You need to be quick though, there are only 8 races which means that there are only 64 chances to be the owner of a horse. You can own as many horses as you like, and of course, you get to name the horse (please remember that it is a family night!). If you are the owner of the winning horse, you will get a very nice bottle of wine or prosecco to celebrate your victory.
On the evening, four of the races will feature "Jockey Auctions" where you will get the chance to become the rider of a horse. If you are the jockey of a horse that comes in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd (we like each-way bets at Forfarshire), you get to share in the prize money.
And the best part, everyone, rich or poor, young or old, has the opportunity to take part in the Tote betting for each race. Bets cost just £1 so it means that you don't have to break the bank to have a vested interest as each race is run.
Remember, once the runners and riders are under way, everyone can shout, cheer, or even scream as their horse gets ever closer to the finishing line. Will your horse be a winner? Or will its next race be the Donkey Derby at Blackpool beach?
And, of course, we will have a raffle (all donations of prizes will be gratefully received), a sweepie, and maybe even a couple of other impromptu games.
