T20 Cup Win!

Forfarshire 1st XI have won the regional final of the T20 Scottish Cup after two dominant wins in the regional finals day.

In the semi-final against Huntly, Forfarshire posted 214 for 5 in 20 overs, Michael Leask hit a blistering 77 from 33 balls and joined Callum Garden (68 from 39 balls) in adding 151 for the 2nd wicket. Two wickets apiece for Bryce Allchin, Manu Saraswat and Lewis Robinson then saw Huntly all out for 46 as Forfs made their way comfortably into the regional final against Falkland who had earlier defeated Arbroath.

Harjeet Brar hit a determined 60 from 42 balls to get the

final underway, but when he was bowled by Cutler at 91 for 5, the Forfs innings was in the balance. Dean Stonebridge then stepped up and blasted 46 from 27 balls that entertained the traveling support, and with Keegan Crawford also hitting 42 from 21 balls in the later stages of the innings, Falkland were left requiring 183 to win in their 20 overs following the late innings revival.

The Falkland run chase never gained the momentum needed despite the efforts of Mufti (36) and Hussain (33) with the Forfs bowlers on top throughout. Keegan Crawford, Manu Saraswat, Lewis Robinson and Harjeet Brar all took 2 wickets to secure a 63-run win.

Forfarshire will now travel to Stirling on Sunday 16th August for the national finals of the Cricket Scotland Men's T20 Scottish Cup.
