Match report Arbroath won the toss and opted to bat on a warm but overcast evening. Zoe Rennie and Kirsty McColl put on an excellent opening stand before Zoe Rennie (on 23) and Kirsty McColl (on 11) both retired having faced 20 balls. Mackinlay Hogg also retired after 20 balls with 12 to his name. The rest of the team did not fare as well but this allowed Zoe and Kirsty to return and Zoe advanced her score to 37 off another 9 balls while Kirsty scored one more run, Arbroath finishing on 115 for 6 wickets from their 20 overs.
When Forfarshire batted, Zoe Rennie clean bowled Oliver for 5 and Euan Bridges similarly dismissed Scott for 8 to put Arbroath on the front foot. We hit back with a very good stand between Thomas and Gregor before both retired on 12 and 20 respectively after facing their 20 balls. Arbroath went back on top with another 2 quick wickets before Zoe Bailey and Emily Arthur put Forfarshire back into contention before they both retired. With 20 needed off the last 2 overs and with Thomas and Gregor returning, some good running between the wickets put Arbroath under pressure and overthrows could have proved costly for them but in the end Arbroath just held on to win in a very entertaining match by 5 runs.
